How we work
Getting started
1. A conversation. No charge. We find out whether we're the right fit, and say so if what you need is something else.
2. An assessment. A written report on where things stand, and a readout with your leadership. See a sample report →
3. The first 30 days. We document your systems, vendors, contracts, and renewals; meet your IT provider; and agree on the roadmap.
Once we're working together
| Monthly | A leadership meeting and a one-page brief: what was done, what's coming, what was spent. |
| Quarterly | Roadmap and budget review, with a written report for owners or the board. |
| Yearly | A fresh assessment and the multi-year budget, in time for summer capital planning. |
Our commitments
- No commissions, markups, or resale. We're paid only by you.
- Recommendations in writing, with the reasoning and the cost.
- No new platforms. We work in the tools your IT provider already uses, such as ConnectWise or Kaseya.
- You own your records. Your documentation, budgets, and decisions are yours. If you leave, you get all of it and a proper handoff.
- Same-business-day response. Emergencies go to your IT provider first, and we follow up.
- Off the shelf first. Proven products before custom builds. Custom software only when it's really called for, and then MTRC.studio builds it under the same roof.
- We disclose relationships. If we've worked with a vendor we're evaluating, or if MTRC.studio could build something we're recommending, we tell you in writing, and you're free to choose anyone.
Fast to respond, careful to decide
You'll always hear from us quickly. But a quick response isn't always a final answer. The first idea is rarely the right one, and complex problems deserve layers of decision-making: what we know, what we need to check, who else should weigh in, and what it costs to be wrong. When a problem is complex, our first response tells you exactly that, and when you'll hear more. Then we come back with a recommendation we're confident in.
Who does what
| MTRC.tech | Strategy, budgets, policies, documentation, vendor oversight, security program |
| Your IT provider | Day-to-day support. We work with the one you have, or help you choose. |
| A licensed contractor | Installs and permits for cabling, cameras, access control, and AV |
| Your attorney or auditor | Legal opinions and compliance certifications |
What we don't do
Day-to-day help desk, 24/7 support, penetration testing, forensics, legal opinions, compliance certifications, or reselling anything. When you need those, we'll help you find the right firm, and we won't take a fee for the introduction.
