Software that fits how you actually work
MTRC.studio designs and builds websites, operational software, and the connections between your systems. We're off-the-shelf people, so we only build when off the shelf won't do. When it won't, we build it properly, and it stays under the same roof as the advice that led to it.
Off the shelf first. Custom when it's called for
Most organizations don't need custom software. They need the right product, set up well. If that's you, we'll say so, and MTRC.tech can help you choose and configure it.
Custom is the right answer when:
- No product fits how you operate, and bending the operation to fit the software would cost more than building.
- The products you already own don't talk to each other, and people are retyping the same information in three places.
- The fit is the advantage. The way you run the business is what sets you apart, and generic software would sand it off.
- Per-user licenses have outgrown the value. At your size, owning it costs less than renting it.
If none of those are true, you'll hear that from us before you spend anything.
What we build
Websites and content platforms
Company and community sites with structured content your team can edit without breaking the design, connected to the systems that hold your real information: inventory, pricing, availability, people. Migrations from older platforms included.
Operational software
Staff apps, customer portals, and back-office tools for operations that don't fit a product, built around the handoffs between people, what happens when something goes wrong, and the records a manager needs at the end of the day.
Integrations
The plumbing between the systems you already pay for: sales and inventory data to your website, listings to the portals that syndicate them, records between your CRM, accounting, and operations. Enter information once, where it belongs, and use it everywhere it's needed.
Products
For organizations and founders turning a real operational problem into a product: discovery, a first version that earns its keep, and the architecture to grow from one customer to many.
Care after launch
Hosting, updates, monitoring, and small improvements for what we build, so it keeps working after the launch party.

How we build
- 1Paid discovery. A short, fixed-fee engagement to understand the operation, test whether custom is really the answer, and produce a fixed-scope quote. Sometimes the answer is a product, and the discovery says so.
- 2Phased build. Fixed-scope phases, each ending in working software you can use, not a status report.
- 3Launch and handoff. Tested, documented, and in accounts you own.
- 4Care. Ongoing support, if you want it.
Built with
Next.js, React, and TypeScript on the web; React Native for staff and field devices; Sanity for structured content; PostgreSQL for data; Vercel and Microsoft Azure for hosting and integrations. Well-supported, widely used tools, so the next developer can pick up where we left off.
We use AI to build faster and test more, held to the same standard of testing and accountability as everything else. The judgment and the responsibility for what ships stay with us.
Questions
- Do you only build custom software?
- No. We'd rather you didn't need it. Plenty of conversations should end with a product recommendation, and when they do, MTRC.tech can help you choose and set it up.
- Who owns what you build?
- You do: the code, the content, and the accounts it runs in. Hosting, domains, and content systems are set up in your name.
- What does it cost?
- Every project starts with a fixed-fee discovery and ends with a fixed-scope quote. We don't price before we understand the work.
- Can you take over software someone else built?
- Often, yes. Discovery tells us what we're inheriting and whether it's worth keeping.
- How is this related to MTRC.tech?
- Same company, different jobs. MTRC.tech advises and leads; MTRC.studio builds. When MTRC.tech recommends custom software, it says so in writing, and you're free to have anyone build it.
